Finance & Operations Lead

Job description

FindHotel is growing rapidly and aspires to become the best independent source for the traveler searching for hotel deals.

We are looking for a bold individual who will join our leadership team, leading the efforts to systematize and formalize our processes, improve our access to financing and appropriate the way we run our human resource operations.

 

What you will be doing:

Planning

  1. Contribute to our strategic business plans and lead their implementation towards our goals
  2. Responsible for developing financial and tax strategies that improve our cash flow
  3. Develop performance measures that support our strategic direction utilizing data and setting operational critical metrics for the teams to follow

Operations

  1. Lead key decisions as a member of the executive management team
  2. Lead our accounting, investor relations, legal, tax, and treasury efforts
  3. Lead our employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on improving a cost-effective benefits package
  4. Support the leadership team in strategic negotiations
  5. Design our HR operations, with particular emphasis on improving the: % of A players, eNPS, employee turnover, employee development and strength of our community. 
  6. Design our recruitment efforts to
    1. systematically and scientifically identify the right values, abilities, and skills for each role 
    2. systematically and scientifically find, attract and assess candidates, so we can grow the business at a fast pace with the right hires
    3. onboard recruits to our formula, values, and principles
  7. Setup and lead our transaction processing systems (future payment system)
  8. Develop appropriate teams to further grow the company accordingly

Financial Information

  1. Lead the issuance of financial information
  2. Personally review and approve all financial filings
  3. Report financial results to the (future) board of directors

Risk Management

  1. Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
  2. Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
  3. Construct and monitor reliable control systems
  4. Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
  5. Ensure that the company follows all legal and regulatory requirements
  6. Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
  7. Report risk issues
  8. Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations

Funding

  1. Monitor cash balance and cash forecasts
  2. Arrange for debt and equity financing
  3. Participate in conference calls with the investment community
  4. Maintain banking relationships
  5. Represent the company with bankers and investors

Requirements

Your profile:

  • You have a master degree in Business Administration or Economics with focus on finance/controlling, or alternatively at least 5 years of professional experience in a comparable position with top management responsibility, ideally in a fast-growing company
  • You have extensive experience defining strategies and transforming them into profitable success as well as implementing and maintaining vision
  • You are exceptional in leading, developing and motivating teams as well as in accompanying change processes
  • You are a strong networker, relationship builder and have strong negotiation skills
  • You are a system & principle thinker, combined with a hands-on mentality and an entrepreneurial growth mindset
  • You are both curious and intellectually humble
